Join me for a Batik Workshop at the Stroum Jewish Community Center in Mercer Island where we'll be making Challah covers! I think it is open to the public but cost more if you are not a member. I don't have all the details yet on that end. Anyway, I was asked to teach this class and I have never made a Challah cover before but I'll be making a few tests and examples for the class.
We'll be using the organic tea towels I love as they are perfect size for a Challah cover!
The photo included here is AI generated through Shopify! A new addition to Shopify and my first time using it so amazing eh? Of course I am well versed in NightCafe AI generated art for ideas and explorations. I am not sure what the Hebrew letters say on this picture or if they are correct..? But I'll research that for my class. I found on-line but I'll post my examples as soon as I make them! This will be an exciting experience as I love the Jewish culture. I feel really honored they asked me not knowing who I was or anything. Maybe my daughter will help assist me in the class as she has assisted in numerous regular art classes with my elementary students - most recently with the big video shoot in Port Townsend at the Salish Sea Butoh Festival in August and shot amazing footage of which I am using in the video edits I'm working on currently. (All of this video will be available on my youtube channel: youtube.com/user/anmagi) So I am sure she will do well with the Batik as well!
We are just an ordinary artist family :)
BTW I just had my 57th birthday - incredible and thankful to be here and still looking like a movie star :D
