An-Magrith Erlandsen is a Norwegian Seattle Native and Fine Artist, Master Oil Painter, Art Teacher and BATIK ARTIST.
AA, The Art Institute of Seattle. BFA, Cornish College of the Arts.
In 1992 An-Magrith traveled extensively in Indonesia; Bali, Java and Papua New Guinea where she first discovered BATIK, and most recently in 2023 traveled to Rajasthan, India. A lifelong artist and fashionista she enjoys creating Wearable Art on Comfortable and Flattering styles.
Each piece is infused with the artist's unique touch and Vision. The Art of Pomegranate Batik is Collectible, Signed, and One of a Kind.
BATIK is a labor intensive layered process of painting with beeswax and soaking the cloth in various dye baths. BATIK is a Powerful and Ancient Art form that was and is still practiced in various cultures around the world. The final results of BATIK ART is always a fantastic and satisfying surprise, for unlike oil painting there is no control in the outcome of Batik. A succesful outcome is up to the SPIRIT of Batik, to the ELEMENTS and the Intentions of the Artist.
Pomegranate Batik invokes the Ancient Art of Painting and Wearing Batik with the Ancient Protective and Empowering Spirit of Creation. Traditional Cultural Symbols are often used in the Art of Batik to thwart the Evil Eye. The Good works, SPIRIT and Intentions of the Artist is key to their power.
Ancient Henna body art and Sak Yant tattoo have a similiar and sacred intention invoked by the artist applying the art. Symbols are drawn for attracting Peace, Love and Harmony. Such fruitful energies are already a part of our field of reality, however our intentional acknowledgement of it by wearing the invoked symbols and imagery by the artist opens the doors to their personal acquaintance - and by this helping the wearer on their journey in this life. Art is a gift from the gods and the beyond.
