About

An-Magrith Erlandsen, a Norwegian Seattle native, earned a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts, and an AA from The Art Institute of Seattle in the 90's.

In 1992 she traveled extensively in Indonesia; Bali, Java and Papua New Guinea where she first discovered BATIK, and most recently in 2023 traveled to Rajasthan, India. A lifelong artist and fashionista she enjoys creating Wearable Art on Comfortable and Flattering styles.

Each piece is infused with the artist's unique touch and vision and is Collectible, Signed, and One of a Kind.

BATIK is a labor intensive many layered process of painting with beeswax and soaking the cloth in various dye baths in-between the layering of wax. In the end the wax is boiled out in a giant cauldron finally revealing the images hiding beneath the wax, always a satisfying surprise!

BATIK is ancient art form that was and is still practiced in various cultures around the world. Wearing batik with protective and empowering symbols is a powerful way to deflect negative energies that comes at us throughout the day.

Batik, Henna body art and Sak Yant tattoo all have similar sacred intentions invoked by the artist applying the art to the cloth we wear upon our body or upon our skin. Symbols are drawn for attracting Peace, Love and Harmony and helping the wearer on their journey in this life.

Walk in Peace, Purpose, Spirit and Love friends!
