Batikking Denim Jackets & Vests

Batikking Denim Jackets & Vests

I ordered a pile of jackets and vests and am in the process of creating some magnificent one of a kind signed pieces that you can wear all year long especially if you live in the Pacific NW - We love our eccentric individually decorated denim jackets and vests here! In the winter you just put a hoodie on and the jacket over and you're set, it's all about LAYERING here. One of the jackets is ready to be boiled out and that means it'll soon be in my shop, and that is my POMBA GIRA inspired red and black jacket, so excited about this piece! It has a big portrait on the back - I love painting portraits in batik and oil painting.

I also have a purpley Hamsa vest and a greenish gold decorative Pomegranate vest who'll be joining the boiling cauldron with Pomba Gira, as well as two Challah covers one with Pomegranate Star of David and one with All-Seeing Eye Hamsa.

They will be in my shop sometime this week!

Then I just got a couple of white "Jessica Simpson" brand denim jackets that are exquisite quality with a bit of stretchiness! I'll be putting Lucky white dragons on these jackets. I may have to keep one for myself because it really is badass and I haven't kept any lucky dragon batiks for myself yet, they sell out so fast! So I'm making some more. I also got a liteblue 2XL denim jacket that I'll put the Harald Sohlberg painting on - "Winter Night in the Mountains" - which I also have in the background of my painting "Page of Swords" in the Tarot of the Pomegranate. So it'll be a Tarot of the Pomegranate - Sohlberg collaboration, and that will be eventuallly listed under the Tarot Batik category!

Lastnight I inked in the Frida Kahlo image on a beige 2XL denim jacket inspired by a picture I created in the 90's at the Art Institute of Seattle, the assignment was to do a characterization and I did it of Frida Kahlo, of course, as I was obsessed with Frida Kahlo in those days - my biggest artistic inspiration. So, I'm very excited about this piece too and will I keep it or put it in my shop? I will likely put it in my shop because it's almost Christmas and people need those hand made one of a kind locally made presents!!!

I'm feeling very inspired this holiday!

I am also looking at some other business opportunities as I am visiting a studio this week in Georgetown that is interested in collaborating with me on some clothing pieces - I'll keep you updated on that exciting turn of events! I think I may be very busy in 2026 with Batik!

I'm grateful for all the opportunities coming my way and I hope to do my best making the world a brighter place with art...
