Today I dropped off about twenty items at the Brick & Mortar shop "Bootyland Kids" on Capitol Hill, 12th Avenue inside ChopHouse Row. This is a shop geared towards babies and moms! Cool moms that is. :D Also, there is a dance studio right next door called PopRox Dance Studio! Such a cool artsy space. ChopHouse Row is amazing actually - swanky restaurants, shops, galleries, bars and outdoor seating areas in cozy courtyards. I love my apparel being here! Ellie who owns Bootyland dressed up three of her mannequins with my batik, the stained glass moth crop top, the moth long sleeved shirt and in the corner the Cereberus hoodie! Halloween is just around the corner after all. Also, the three sets of Arm Warmers are there, the newest 3XL Hoodie with the Black Light fishes, the hippie crop tops, the Golden Runes hoodie, Antiquitech hoodie. Ellie and I were both wearing snake necklaces so I got the idea to make shirts with snakes wrapping around the arms! Some Snake Goddess oriented batik would be amazing.
Pomegranate Batik is at two Brick & Mortars now: Bootyland Kids on Capitol Hill and Mind Set Apothecary Boutique on Vashon Island. WOW! A few months ago I would've never imagined this. Now I need to get into vending at markets like Punk Rock Flea Market or Fremont Night Market...? Nini can help me.
I also sold my Sun Tarot shirt this morning - but it is a bit small for the buyer so I am going to make one in an XL for her, and some other Tarot batik in XL & 2XL. I am thinking of bringing the Tarot batik by Gargoyles Statuary or even Edge of the Circle where they both sell occult shirts.
I think it's really inspiring and exciting to bring my work into Brick & Mortar shops! I love having my Tarot decks out there too. BTW I only have three left I think!
I'm a little behind on my Tarot this summer but way ahead on the Batik! I'm so glad I was able to focus on my Batik.
After meeting with Ellie I met with Jackie Hell at her apartment and we are excitedly discussing the Horror Movie we want to make but was put on hold because of Covid. We had so many ideas! I feel like we could talk forever. It's like this is the perfect time to make this movie, and it has been germinating for four years! And.. Perhaps Ellie will be in it? Nini for sure. Overall, It's so nice to meet up with old friends and acquaintances of the creative inspirational supportive good people sort - it reminds me that life is what you make it and a creative life and good people is what it is about. I'm also bellydancing again for the past six months with a new but old school teacher and I'm so happy to be doing this again even if it is just for fun and not performance. But I do see performances coming up in the future - of the performance art variety - which inspires me to get back into shape. I have all I need in my life to do these things - I'm like the Magician in the Tarot, I have before me all I need on the table I just need to know how to put it together and make it work.
Also saw ELO the other night with friends ... love that music - so much nostalgia! I must remember to attend concerts more often - and now you can't even bring a purse into concert halls or stadiums anymore it has to be see-through plastic. I'll make sure to pack my tarot deck next time.
