The Summer Batik workshop at Mind Set Apothecary on Vashon Island will now be a WEEKEND event, Sat and Sunday only, same time 1-5pm.
Classes are held outdoors in the cozy courtyard of Mind Set Apothecary! I have taken classes here before and it's a joy, and Mardi the owner of Mind Set is amazing. The whole experience there is wonderful and encouraging.

I'm excited to impart my Batik skills to everyone! We will learn how to paint with beeswax on clothing and textiles and learn the submersion method of dying our batik in Procion dyes. WE DO NOT PAINT WITH DYES.
On Sunday we'll boil out our work, as well as do a second layer of wax and a second dye bath on our other items. I will provide tea towels and t-shirts to learn and experiment on, but please feel free to bring your own clothing or textiles. Make sure your material is cotton, linen, silk or rayon and must be at least 95% pure for the dye to stick.
You will have the skills to take your second layer of dyed items home and boil them out or - add a third layer of wax and dye at home!
