Begun in 1998 upon An-Magrith's graduation from the exclusive Cornish College of the Arts she followed a calling to paint the Tarot upon giant life size canvases. She completed the 22 Major Arcana in 2012, these paintings are over five feet tall. The 16 3.5 ft. tall Royal Arcana (court cards) in 2020. The 40 Pip cards (painted on small wood panels and assembled in Photoshop to create the first full deck printed in 2024) and the Minor Arcana (still in progress) with the finished paintings printed as extra cards in the deck.
Tarot of the Pomegranate was is and being created in Seattle, and is printed in Seattle as well. Each deck is a limited run with each deck's booklet signed by the artist.
The photo displayed here was taken at Vigeland's Parken in Oslo Norway in 2018. In 1999 An-Magrith traveled to Norway and used this plaque as reference for the thirteenth card of the major arcana "Death". In 2018 An-Magrith visited the park and the small plaque again this time with her deck in progress.
The deck displayed here was the "First Edition" that An-Magrith designed and distributed to her followers as a deck in progress. It is a small regular sized Tarot deck. The current deck is a larger deck, designed by graphic artist Lena Kartzov, and professionally printed.
