Batik is a labor intensive Ancient Art form practiced in different cultures all over the world including Indonesia, India and China. Many motifs applied to clothing are for protection, luck and blessings, comparable to Henna designs.
Batik involves drawing skills, painting with beeswax, and knowledge of color and dying. Several layers and dye baths may be applied to one piece. The Queen of Wands was a three layer dye process.
One piece may take up to four weeks to create - so if you CUSTOM ORDER - please be patient! Each piece is created with LOVE because I LOVE DOING THIS!
